Volunteers
We rely on the community to continue to provide care for the thousands of animals that come to our shelter every year. Our volunteers are integral to assisting us with this care and day to day activities that allow us to manage a successful shelter to benefit both the community and all animals.
The cost of running a shelter each year is significant, and this outweighs the financial support that we receive from government and through our fundraising activities. From 1st October 2011 all volunteers are required become a member before they can commence volunteering this helps us with our administration cost for volunteers.
Carers
Our carers provide an essential role in assisting us with rehabilitation, neo-natal care, and fostering of our special needs animals that have trouble adapting to life in the shelter until each of these animals can be released back to nature, or find a forever home.
We acknowledge this involves personal costs, as well as significant investment of time. As a result of these two factors, wildlife carers will be given complimentary membership and foster carers of domestic animals will be considered on an individual basis.
Carers can of course contribute the cost of membership as a donation if they wish to assist RSPCA financially.
