The Misadventures of Chris the Sheep

Since his infamous entrance into the limelight in 2015, ‘Chris the Sheep’ has continued to bewilder and amaze people around the world. Who knew an innocent tweet could thrust a single lost sheep onto the world stage?

He's been reported by media outlets in just about every country you could name and has been featured on well-known news services and networks such as CNN, NBC, BBC, National Geographic, Huffington Post, and more!

But this time, he’s making an appearance as the illustrated star of our first children’s book, ‘The Misadventures of Chris the Sheep’.

In an effort to educate children about animal welfare, RSPCA ACT has teamed up with local artist, Kylie Fogarty to create a children's picture book about Chris' adventure while he was separated from his flock.

Of the hundreds of questions we have been asked about Chris, the most common is, "How did Chris get so big?"

This fun and exciting story might provide one explanation...

Book Summary:

On 2 September 2015, RSPCA ACT rescued a huge, overgrown sheep in the Australian Capital Territory. After requesting help from the public to find a shearer, ‘Chris the Sheep’ became an international news sensation overnight, breaking a new Guinness World Record in the process. While his life after being rescued is well documented by the media, no one knows for sure what happened to Chris prior to this. This children’s book provides one possible explanation for how Chris became so big, with his adventure to share with kids of all ages!

All funds raised from the sale of 'The Misadventures of Chris the Sheep' will help unwanted, abused and neglected animals in the ACT.
