Our Philosophy
At RSPCA ACT every healthy companion animal stays with us for as long as it takes to find a home. There are no time limits and no animal is ever put to sleep because they have been with us too long or we have no space.

We take pride in our adoption process as we work with you to find that special animal that is not only right for you and your family, but a perfect match for your new pet as well.
When a stray animal is brought to the shelter, it is kept by RSPCA ACT for seven days to allow the owner adequate time to contact us. If, after seven days, the animal is not claimed, it may be made available for adoption. Before being adopted, all animals are checked by a veterinarian, and if required they are vaccinated and wormed. All cats, dogs and rabbits are desexed prior to adoption. Our adoption prices are all inclusive, so you pay one simple fee and go home with your new pet and the knowledge that everything possible has been done to ensure their physical and mental health is in the best shape possible.
