Training & Education
Welcome to the Training and Education section of RSPCA ACT.
Training
Training is available at the Weston Creek shelter for all dog owners not only in the ACT, but across our region. Dog owners can learn about how to train their dog and attend to their dog's behavioural needs through the Life Skills Pet Dog Training program. Training is conducted by friendly, dedicated and qualified instructors who can assist in all aspects of dog training and management.
RSPCA ACT offers both group classes, for dogs of all age groups, as well as private (one-on-one) training for dogs presenting behaviour or training problems. We are equipped with a safe, disinfected training yard for young puppies that have not yet finished their full course of vaccination.
To learn more about our dog training programs, please see Dog and Puppy Training.
Should you need further information regarding our Dog and puppy training programs please email us or contact us.
Education
Youth education
RSPCA ACT offers many education programs for children of all ages. These activities may be related to school groups or other groups such as scouts or playgroups. Our education programs can be adapted to classroom settings or may include hands-on opportunities at the Weston Creek shelter itself. Visit our Petagogy page to learn more about our youth education programs. We are proud to be able to offer youth education on both domestic and wild animals.
Children under 14 years of age can also join the RSPCA ACT Paw Prints Club and meet like-minded friends and learn about animals in a fun and stimulating environment!
