RSPCA ACT is launching a FREE pet emergency preparation kit called ‘Ready to Go’!
Emergencies can strike suddenly and without warning. And with various studies showing that over 60% of Australians owning pets, it’s important to think about what you would do with your furry, feathery and/or scaly family members in emergency situations too.
Do you have a plan if you had to evacuate with your pet with little notice?
Evacuating your pets is more difficult than just tossing them into the car. Do you have leads, food/water bowls, medical records, medication, microchip numbers, etc? Do you have an alternative place to go that will also house your pet? What if you have to leave them behind?
To help you be prepared in the case of an emergency, RSPCA ACT has simplified the process for you.
The free ‘Ready to Go’ kit will provide you with information and ideas on how to plan an evacuation with your pets. It includes:
- Emergency step-by-step guide and checklist to ensure you are ready to go in case of an emergency.
- A special door hanger to leave behind to advise emergency services and others of your pet's location if you are unable to evacuate with them.
- A magnet to display the plan and checklist in a prominent area in your house, so you’re always ready to go.
