RSPCA ACT is excited to announce the appointment of the new RSPCA ACT Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Robertson, effective 13th August 2018.
RSPCA ACT Board President, Jeffrey Butler, was delighted to welcome Michelle to the RSPCA ACT family.
“Michelle’s proven track record of leadership makes her the ideal person to lead the terrific team at the RSPCA ACT into the future.
With the recent additions to the Board and the appointment of a new CEO, the team is well positioned to continue to ensure best outcomes for animals in the ACT.”
Michelle anticipates a ‘steep learning curve’ especially during the first few months but is looking forward to taking on the stewardship of Canberra’s only animal shelter and the role she can play in advocating for animal welfare.
“Working side-by-side with the RSPCA team and the wider Canberra community, I aim to continue to build on the solid foundation established under the leadership of Tammy Ven Dange.”
Today’s announcement follows another successful year of animal welfare statistics with the organisation reaching a formidable rehoming rate of over 91% across all species during the 2017/18 financial year.
Michelle has expertise in strategic, operational and tactical program and project delivery.
In 2014 she joined Communities@Work, a for-purpose organisation offering a broad suite of community and support services in the greater Capital region as a member of their executive team.
Prior to joining Communities@Work, she headed up the operations of a leading international strategic business & communication agency based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In addition to her for-purpose and community sector experience, she has consulted broadly to a range of other sectors.
A supporter of innovative thinking, she maintains a philosophy of collaboration, honesty and performing at the highest level.
Michelle shares licks and cuddles from her rescue dog, Bowie, with her family.
