Have you ever wanted to adopt an animal, but maybe you’re uncertain about the full-time commitment of adopting? Foster Caring might be just right for you.
Foster Caring gives you all the fun and enjoyment of looking after an animal, without the financial and long-term commitment. We will happily work with you with your available time and commitment.
RSPCA ACT will supply you with:
- Food
- Litter (for cats)
- Bedding
- Medication
- Free access, visits, and treatment to our veterinarians
- Enrichment
- All the help we can offer you to make your foster caring journey smooth.
- Behavioural advice
As you can see, we give you everything you need to make the animals comfortable, we just need you to give them a loving home.
How Foster Carers help animals:
Before animals can be adopted from RSPCA ACT they need to be desexed, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated. While they wait to be medically cleared for adoption, living with a foster carer in a loving home can be a much better alternative to staying at the shelter. Sometimes the shelter environment can be stressful for animals.
Young animals need to wait until they are a certain age to be desexed, rather than spending several weeks at the shelter, wouldn’t it be much more enjoyable to spend time with you in a loving home.
RSPCA ACT rely on our Foster Carer network, without them, we would not have the space to accept all the animals who need our help. The more Foster Carers we have, the more animals we can help.
