Every year, unwanted abused and neglected dogs come into our Shelter needing help. While they are in our care, dogs will stay in our Kennels while they are rehabilitated, retrained and treated before they find their forever home. Some dogs will spend just a few days in our care while others will spend months or even years before they will find a new home.
At any one time at the shelter we can have over 60 canines in care at any time. Each day that an animal is in our care costs $25. This provides the basic care for animals including shelter, heating, water and bedding. This does not include any toys, treats, as well as vital behavioural assessments, training and veterinary treatments.
We are looking for local Canberrans to help by becoming a Kennel Suppawter. There are two ways in which you can support:
You can help homeless animals while they are in our care by making a $550 donation or by donating $50 a month for a year, earning you a plaque set on our donor wall. This plaque will formally recognise your generous contribution to helping animals. Your plaque will be displayed in the Kennel area.
Sponsor a Kennel
Alternatively, you can make a bigger difference to the lives of dogs in our care by supporting one of our kennels for a minimum donation of $5000. In exchange for this donation, you will be able to paint the kennel with logos and a colour scheme that represents the business as well as a personalized sign. By becoming a Kennel Suppawter you will be seen by the thousands of visitors we have at our shelter as being a community minded organisation focused on investing to help animals in the ACT.
